Update: Daylight Savings Strikes Again

Me, going to work and the sun is rising.
Sunrise – I’m late!

Having the daylight set so early during this time of the year throws me off pretty badly! I go to work for 7:00 a.m. and then I come back, starting at 4:00 p.m. or later; my body keeps thinking that I need to sleep soon after the sun sets.

It makes it surprisingly hard to want to do anything after work, besides curling up and sleeping in my bed. I haven’t even started my pokemon shield game, which has already been released since last Friday!

That’s how far I am in the game

On top of the daylight savings time shift, I have so many things stacked up from now until the end of the year. A lot of it has to do with social gatherings, attending events (OOAK 2019 and Pet Expo anyone?), and preparing for more social gatherings! Also, my birthday is coming up in a week or so and it is mandated that I celebrate with my parents.

Not only do I have a lot of planned upcoming events – I’m also planning to get a bird! About 15 years ago, I had a couple budgies and since then, I’ve been wanting to keep a bird again. Last weekend, I went to a store a couple hours away from home to play with the new birds – apparently I was so excited to hold a bird that I ended up staring at it for 5 minutes, all while doing nothing else.

Visual imagery of me looking at the bird for 5 mins, basically. I was basking in its adorable, cheeky presence.

The rest of last weekend was about fixing up my craft room to accommodate a potential bird. Our house is going to get new windows, so hopefully it will be nice and cozy! Everything seems to be coming together for this moment.

Lots of things to sort out though, but soon!

I am still weighing in on some options for bird species, but I am leaning towards a small conure; a close second would be getting two lineolated parakeets. I like different things about each of the species, but I am limited to choosing one. The decision is probably going to happen in the next month or more.

Tangent topics aside, I still want to keep crocheting a new piece per week! It’s just really hard to do it at the peak season of social events and with little to no sunlight – I’m hoping I can do a post every week, but probably in some weird intervals. I did plan having a week to myself at the end of this month, so there might be more than one update next week, fingers crossed.

About 5 more working weeks until the end of the year! What sort of plans do you have in store?
