Hey everyone, today marks the initial release date of Sonic the Hedgehog 2, featuring Miles “Tails” Prower! I thought I’d make a free pattern of the two-tailed fox for the occasion.

This game was probably one of the longest-standing memories I have with a single game, besides Pokemon gold; I spent many hours with my friend, who owned the game, trying to beat it on the Sega genesis. Basically, we used Tails to beat the bosses, while the other would dodge with Sonic.

I can tell you that Tails has always been my favourite. As a character, I remember relating to being a “tag-along” kid; I also remember being the timid kid who could easily be picked on. Also, with the game being released close to my birthday, it added to the likability.

Abbreviations

  • MR = magic ring

  • TO = turn over
  • cc = change colour

An image of all the pieces lying on top of a green notebook.

Before assembling all the pieces onto the body, each limb and body segments had their own set of pieces put together first. I used to put the base pieces altogether first, but they end up getting in the way while trying to stitch pieces together.

Here are the final results of the mini Tails amigurumi:
